Exton is a small Meander Valley locality on the old road and railway corridor between Westbury and Deloraine. Houses, farm buildings and traces of former transport activity are spread through a working rural landscape.

Historic houses and a former grain store help explain the locality’s service role. Most places are private, and roadside visibility does not imply entry or parking permission.
The railway changed movement
The Western Line linked northern farms and towns with Launceston and the north-west. Trains still use parts of the freight network. Stay well away from tracks and never use the rail corridor as a walking route.
Make a short, respectful stop
There are few visitor services. Use formed public areas, watch for fast traffic and farm machinery, and base meals or longer interpretation in Westbury or Deloraine.
