kunanyi / Mount Wellington rises 1,271 metres above Hobart. The summit can be cold, windy or cloudbound while the city is mild, and access can change quickly.

Check before driving

Pinnacle Road may close for snow, ice, fire or other hazards. Check the official road status immediately before leaving and carry warm, waterproof clothing in every season.

Choose a walk by conditions

Wellington Park contains short forest tracks, exposed alpine routes and longer connections. Use the official map, tell someone your plan and do not treat summit-road access as proof that every track is safe.

Respect cultural and natural values

kunanyi is Aboriginal Country and a defining presence above Hobart. Stay on formed tracks, clean footwear and follow fire, dog and bicycle restrictions.

The mountain connects naturally with Hobart, Hobart Rivulet and the Hobart parks guide.
